General Info and FAQ


Please, call at least 1 week before the date you need your custom cake! It is always better to contact me a few weeks ahead of the date!

Please, also note that in order to reserve your date, a safety deposit must be left. I can not guarantee the availability before you make your reservation.


HOW TO PLACE AN ORDER OR ASK FOR A QUOTE

 

Placing your order is very easy! Here is how it works:


1. Describe your cake or cupcakes and I will estimate the price, or name your budget and see what I can offer.

Please, fill out the Cake Request Form and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

2. Receive an invoice.

Once we agree on cake design and budget, I will finalize your request and send you a detailed invoice.

3. Make a security deposit.

To finalize your order, please make you security deposit. The deposit amount will be indicated in your invoice.

4. Once I receive your deposit, I will update your invoice and email it to you.


5. Pick up your cake on the assigned date or ask for delivery and pay the balance once you receive your finished cake.

 

RUSH ORDERS are welcome, too! Please, check my À la carte section to pick your design. Please, note: all rush orders are subject to opening in my schedule and pre-ordered cakes are always in priority.

 

DEPOSITS

When you are ready to place your order, a non-refundable deposit of $50 or 25% of the order total price (whichever is greater) is required to be made within 24h period in order to guarantee your date availability. The balance of the total amount is to be payed upon cake pick up.

HOW BIG ARE MY CAKE SERVINGS (SLICES/PORTIONS)?

Because there are many cake serving size standards on the market, it is very important not only to know how many servings you might need for your event, but also to have an idea of how big your cake will be and whether serving sizes will be sufficient enough for your guests.  My regular party-sized servings are quite generous and are calculated to match 1"x2"x4" size or equal volume in cakes of any shape. For my calculations I use this wonderful cake chart by Earlene . Because it is very hard to calculate the exact number of servings in carved/irregular shaped cakes, I always have to approximate according to how much cake I baked, less the amount of scraps after carving, but I ALWAYS BAKE EXTRA CAKE and round up in your favour, giving you a few more servings to make sure no one of your guests is left without a piece!

What are EDIBLE IMAGES/PHOTOGRAPHS?

They are printed on edible sugar sheets with special food inks and melt into the surface of the cake once placed on them.

Feel free to Email me hi-resolution pictures (200-300 dpi) of yourself or your loved ones if you'd like me to incorporate them into your cake in some way. Let me know if you need some guidance.
